ARTIST NOTES: Blue Moon portrays a majestic dead red gum near where I used to live in the Western District of Victoria. Those massive red gums have been an ongoing subject of my art. They are as fascinating as the human form in all their differences.
This is a 'drypoint' print where I used a sharp etching tool or woodcut tool to draw into a sheet of perspex. No liquid acid resist was needed. I then printed it with Prussian Blue oil-based etching ink on Canson 250gsm paper. The paper is soaked in water, blotted then run through the printing press with the perspex underneath.
