Forest At Night #2 by Bronwyn Rodden

Features

ARTIST NOTES: This is the forest next to my home in Neo-symbolist form - expressing an idea over a realistic depiction of the natural world. This bush is not a world that is completely natural (nowhere is anymore). Well over a century ago, Symbolist artists reacted to the rationalism, materialism and industrialisation of their times. So, what has changed? This tiny preserved piece of Gumbaynggirr Country is regenerating from what was a cattle farm. Seeing the growth of these living, breathing, trees, and the wildlife they support, gives us hope.
