I have a Bachelor of Education, with my major area of study being Art, specializing in Printmaking and have taught art for many years in schools.
Post-retirement from teaching has awakened a long dormant interest in drawing and painting. Initially I undertook drawing lessons. These lessons fostered my interest in drawing using coloured pencil to capture the beauty of the natural world.
At present I am undertaking watercolour studies and have participated in various workshops with different artists.
My inspiration comes from nature, especially flowers, leaves, insects and birds and my artwork is influenced by my love of Asian art, in particularly Japanese printmakers. I like colour, shape and line and aim to capture this in my drawings and watercolour paintings.
