Three Shelves by Gail Casey

Features

ARTIST NOTES: This painting is produced through a detached fresco process. Please see details of this method on my profile/influences page. The painting is very organic and textured as it has been painted on fresh plaster and detached from its original base which can produces rough edges and surface cracks - an effect that often enhances the finished work. To protect the surface I have finished the piece with wax. This work is available for pick up only

My practice includes a range of methods and materials - oils, acrylic, watercolour, pastel and fresco. Most of my recent work has been completed in my studio and is always worked from life using various organic and inanimate objects collected over time. Knowing the space, using the light and choosing the medium is all part of the creative process of drawing elements together in a picture.
